IMVU is an online entertainment website that allows you to create a 3D avatar that you can use to chat and play games with other members. If you are an IMVU user and you want to log in to the interface without being bombarded with chat requests, you can switch your online status to offline. Offline members can lurk near the chat room and forums without being detected.
Step 1
Sign in to your IMVU account with your user name and password.

Click "Account" at the top of the main menu.
Step 3
Scroll down the Account Tools page, and locate "Forum Preferences." Locate the option "Hide your online status."
Step 4
Click "Yes" to change your online status to offline. Click "Update Preferences" to save the changes to your account.
