PCMCIA cards are small self-contained expansion devices that add various features to your laptop computer. One of the PCMCIA devices is a wireless network adapter, but PCMCIA cards are also used for such devices as dial-up modems and even TV tuners. To use PCMCIA cards, you must have a PCMCIA slot.
