How to Remove a Bosch Axxis Dryer from the Washer

Thomas West

Bosch Axxis washing machines and clothes dryers are front-loading units. The design gives you options when installing the appliances. The Axxis washer and dryer can be installed as standalone units like traditional washers and dryers, and they can be installed under a counter top to give them a built-in appearance.

To save floor space, the Axxis dryer can be mounted on top of the washer -- or stacked -- by using a Bosch stacking kit. Repair or maintenance may require removing the dryer from the top of the washer.

Tip

If the dryer's leveling feet are adjusted after the dryer is removed from the washer, then the feet require readjustment after the dryer is placed back on the washer in order for the mounting bracket holes to line up. Level the rear feet by turning them with an adjustable wrench until the holes in the metal bracket align with the mounting holes in the dryer and the mounting holes in the washer. Lock the dryer's feet into position by using a wrench to tighten the lock nuts where the threaded shaft of the feet enters the hole in the bottom of the dryer chassis.

  1. Unplug the washer and dryer power cords from their electrical outlets. Place the dryer power cord over top of the dryer where it will not interfere with removing the dryer from the washer.

  2. Slide the washer and dryer assembly away from the wall with the help of an assistant.

  3. Loosen the screw on the clamp that secures the dryer duct to the back of the dryer. Pull the duct straight off the back of the dryer.

  4. Locate the two metal mounting brackets on the back of the washer and dryer where the two appliances meet.

  5. Remove the screws from the brackets with a nut driver. Remove the brackets. Set the brackets and the screws aside so you can use them to remount the dryer to the washer.

  6. Lift the dryer straight up and off the washer with your assistant's help. Move the dryer to the side of the washer, and lower it to the ground.
