Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the Dremel from the wall socket or remove the battery from the Dremel.

    • 2

Press the shaft lock button on the side of the tool to prevent the shaft from turning as you loosen the collet. Place the collet wrench around the collet, the small nut at the top of the tool. Use the collet wrench to turn the collet several times around the tool base to loosen it, allowing you to slide a mandrel in place.

    • 3

Slide a Dremel mandrel into the open collet. The mandrel will have a smooth shaft with an attachment tip on the end. Place the shaft of the mandrel through the collet and into the tool body. Tighten the collet by hand by twisting it down onto the tool body, and then tighten it slightly with the collet wrench to secure the mandrel in place.

    • 4

Unscrew the set screw from the mandrel tip then. Place the polishing disc onto the mandrel. Replace the screw over the disc, holding it firmly in place.

    • 5

Polish a surface by turning on the Dremel to low speed and then dipping the disc in polishing compound. Place the disc onto the surface and turn it up to medium speed. Cover the surface with a thin layer of the compound. Turn off the Dremel and buff the surface with a clean soft rag until you reach the glossiness level you prefer.
