Say it all with a heart on your Facebook status.

Sometimes it takes more than words to get your message across on Facebook. For this reason, emoticons and symbols are a popular way for Facebook users to convey moods and feelings along with the typed message. At times, words aren't even needed -- the symbol says it all. Hearts are an easy symbol to insert into a Facebook shoutout, and they speak your message loud and clear because there's really no confusing the meaning behind a heart.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your Facebook account using your email address and password. You will be directed to your Facebook homepage when you enter the correct information.

    • 2

Click on the status box near the top of the page that reads "What's on your mind?"

    • 3

Type "<" and "3" with no spaces in between to make a heart. The heart can be placed before, after or within your message.

    • 4

Click "Share" to post your status update.

    • 5

Read the posted message to make sure the symbols turned into a heart when it was posted.

Tips & Warnings

  • The symbols may not display as a heart on some mobile devices. If you are using a mobile device, you can still enter a heart for computer users to view, even though it will not appear correctly on your device.
