Drinking tea has many benefits including improving the health and appearance of skin. Green tea enhances sun protection and also has anti-aging properties due to the antioxidant content. Tea can also improve the skin by being applied topically. There are a few ways to use tea on your face, but the most effective methods are those in which you prepare the tea yourself rather than buying ready-made products that contain tea, since fresh tea has the most beneficial properties.
Things You'll Need
- Tea bags or tea leaves
- Sesame oil
- Small containers
- Cotton balls
Brew tea just as you would for drinking by steeping a tea bag or tea leaves in hot water for 3 to 5 minutes.
Allow the tea to cool and strain if necessary.
Dip a cotton ball or cosmetic applicator in the tea and apply it all over your face.
Pat your face dry with clean hands.
Place tea leaves in a jar or small dish. If you only have tea bags, you can tear one open and use the leaves inside.
Add just enough sesame oil to cover the leaves.
Use your fingers to massage the scrub into your face in circular motions. Rinse with cool water.
Store the remaining scrub in an airtight container in a dry place out of direct light so it stays fresh.
