Reversing text for some t-shirt iron-on transfers is easy.

There are two kinds of iron-on transfers available for use in computer printers. The kind for dark fabrics does not require reversing images or text, while the kind for white t-shirts does. If your iron-on transfer requires reversing the image or text for it to come out right-side up when ironed on, you can do this in most any image editing software, such as Photoshop. The steps are easy enough for a beginner to follow.

Open your existing file in your image editing software or create a new file.

Click on the text tool to add the text to your file. Position your cursor where you want it and type in the text. At this point, the text will appear normal and not reversed.

Check to make sure you are on the correct layer. Do this with your Layer box which will show every layer you have. Your new text will have its own layer. To reverse the text, you must have that layer selected in the Layer box. Click on it to select it.

Flip the text by going to the Edit menu. In Edit, select "Transform," which brings up several options. Select "Flip Horizontal." Click on this and your image will now reverse itself for printing.

(Optionally) To flip everything, on a file with several layers, it's easier to first use "Flatten Image." Do this in the Image menu by simply selecting "Flatten Image." Now, under the Image menu select "Rotate Canvas." Then, given the options, take "Flip Horizontal." This will reverse everything.
