How to Set Up MagicJack Through CenturyLink
MagicJack allows you to connect a landline phone to your computer to make free Internet calls. You must have a high-speed Internet connection for MagicJack to function. CenturyLink (partnered with Qwest) is a high-speed Internet provider compatible with MagicJack. MagicJack does not require additional software. It connects directly into your computer's USB port and self-installs the necessary software to make phone calls. MagicJack charges a yearly fee for unlimited local and long distance calls.

Insure your CenturyLink service is established. CenturyLink provides a self-installation kit that includes your modem, which will connect to your computer via Ethernet cable. Your modem will not connect to the MagicJack device directly.

Connect the MagicJack device through an available USB port on your computer.

Connect your landline phone to the MagicJack. The MagicJack has a telephone connection port. Connect your telephone cord attached to your landline phone to the MagicJack.

Wait for the MagickJack portal to appear on your computer screen. Click "Click to Register" on the bottom left of the MagicJack portal. You will be asked if you purchased MagicJack from the website or through a third party vender or gift.

Register your MagicJack account by inputting your name, address, desired area code, username and password. You will receive a confirmation e-mail listing your new number and confirming your account details. Attempt to make a phone call.
