How to Remove Skype From the HTC Hero

Using Skype can reduce your phone bill.

The Skype Android app allows you to make Voice over Internet Protocol, or VoIP, calls from your HTC Hero smartphone. The app can communicate using either the phone's Wi-Fi connection or the cellular data network. Skype for Android can also import your phone's contact list, saving you the time required to manually transfer your phone book. If you no long use Skype and want to free up some space on your HTC Hero, remove it using the phone's Application Manager.

Instructions

1. Tap the arrow icon in the lower-left corner of the HTC Hero's home screen. Scroll to "Settings," and tap its icon.

2. Tap "Applications." Tap "Manage Applications."

3. Scroll down to the "Skype" icon, and tap it. Tap the "Uninstall" button.

4. Tap "OK" in the window that opens to remove Skype from your HTC Hero. Tap "OK" when the uninstall is finished.

Tips & Warnings

• Removing Skype also removes any contacts or other information that you have entered into the app.
