How to Hook a D-Link Router to a Modem
Connecting your D-Link router to your modem allows you to share your Internet connection with multiple computers. The modem receives the Internet connection from your service provider, which the D-Link router then distributes to your local area network. If you only have a single computer, a router is unnecessary, but you may still consider using one for the extra protection offered by the D-Link router's built-in firewall.
