How to Get Swype on Backflip

Use Swype to type instead of your Backflip's keyboard.

The Motorola Backflip phone comes installed with the Android operating system (OS). This means that your phone is compatible with the Swype application. Swype is a free virtual keyboard application offered in the Android Market. It allows for easier input of text when sending text messages or emails. Instead of tapping, you slide your fingers across the keyboard. This allows you to send messages faster to your friends and family members.

Instructions

1. Access the "Home" screen on your Motorola Backflip.

2. Tap the "Market" app. Tap the small magnifying glass in the top-right corner.

3. Enter "Swype" into the search bar. Tap the "Swype" icon and touch "Download."

4. Tap "OK" to download the application. Wait for the app to finish downloading to your phone.

5. Return to the "Home" screen. Tap the "Swype" app to activate it.
