How to Draw a Suitcase With Flowers
Drawing common objects that you encounter every day can help you learn about drawing shapes. Simple shapes such as rectangles, circles and ovals are the building blocks of a variety of objects. An illustration of a suitcase with flowers contains all of these basic shapes. This drawing exercise can also teach you about drawing realistic three-dimensional objects. Drawing a floral pattern on a suitcase is also an efficient way to learn the basics of drawing different types of flowers.

1
Create a horizontal rectangle. Draw a parallel line to the left of the rectangle, stopping just above the bottom-left corner and just above the top-left corner. Connect the top of that vertical line to a horizontal line that runs parallel to the top of the rectangle but stops before reaching the end.
-
2
Draw a diagonal line from the top right corner of the rectangle to the end of the top parallel line. Connect the lower left corner to the bottom of the left parallel line with a second diagonal line. Add a third diagonal line that connects the top left corner of the rectangle to the point where the two parallel lines intersect.

3
Draw a vertical line starting on the left side of the suitcase, becoming horizontal across the top of the suitcase, to represent where the suitcase is closed. Create a handle at the top center of the suitcase by creating a "U" shape and adding a second smaller "U" shape underneath the first. Create snaps by drawing a small vertical rectangle on each side of the handle.
-
4
Draw a continuous pattern of flowers that starts on the side of the suitcase and continues across the front and top of the suitcase. To draw an open flower, create a small circle and draw slightly bigger circles surrounding it. For daisies, make the surrounding shapes more oval and less circular.
-
5
Draw an enclosed flower such as a tulip, by creating an egg shape and layering crescent shapes on the left and right side of it for petals. To draw a rose, draw two almond shapes beside each other, so that the center of the two form a "V" shape. In this "V" shaped space, create a small spiral for the bud of the rose.
-
6
Keep drawing flowers until the suitcases is covered with them. Add connecting stems by drawing parallel lines that go from the bottom of one flower and curve out to connect to another flower. Add leaves to each stem by adding oval shapes on both sides of it.
