How to Date an Older Person
Dating an older person can be a challenge due to the age difference itself or due to how society views couples in which one partner is substantially older. However, as with any relationship, a sharing of hobbies, pastimes, and, above all, love, will help the relationship become a success. A person's maturity level, morals, values and enjoyments can often have little to do with age and more to do with the person's personality. Concentrate on finding someone whose personality and interests mesh well with yours.

1
Be upfront about the age issue initially, and approach it with honesty. By avoiding revealing your own age, you can create the notion that the age gap bothers you, even if it does not.
-
2
Ask the person you're dating to share what his passions are. Compare your own hobbies and interests with the his, and find ones that the two of you have in common. This enables you to bond over activities and shared interests.

3
Avoid activities that are too challenging physically for the older person. For example, if you enjoy hiking but your significant other is unable to do that activity, find another pastime you can both participate in and enjoy together.
-
4
Consider your lifestyle in comparison to the person you are dating. If you enjoy going out a lot and having late nights on the town and she doesn't, or vice versa, that could develop into a roadblock in the relationship.

5
Inquire about your older partner's history. Since he is older than you, he likely has many years of experiences, anecdotes and lessons learned that he could share. By helping to form these conversations, you could stumble upon more things the two of you have in common or even more reasons to love him.
