How to Disable the Default RSS Feed in Firefox

Shares & Saves

Live Bookmarks is a Firefox feature that allows you to subscribe to websites that offer RSS feeds. When you subscribe to a feed using Live Bookmarks, Firefox saves the feed as a bookmark that automatically updates every 60 minutes. By default, Firefox automatically adds the "Latest Headlines" Live Bookmark to your bookmarks toolbar when you install the browser. In order to disable any Live Bookmarks, you must delete them.

  • Launch the Firefox Web browser.

  • Right-click an empty spot along the tab strip to open a drop-down menu. Click on "Bookmarks Toolbar" to add a check mark to the selection. The bookmarks toolbar appears just below the browser address bar. Skip this step if the bookmarks toolbar is already showing on your browser.

  • Right-click the "Latest Headlines" Live Bookmark on the bookmarks toolbar. Scroll down and select "Delete."

  • Re-hide the bookmarks toolbar, if you wish, by clicking on an empty spot along the tab strip and clicking "Bookmarks Toolbar" to remove the check mark.
