How to Angle in Flash

The Adobe Flash animation software offers an endless array of options to customize your clips, from coloring the stage to determining the size, shape and appearance of buttons. One of the quickest and least involved ways to change an animation's appearance is to rotate objects within it. Angling in Flash involves the program's rotate option, which gives you full control over the degree and direction of the objects on the stage.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Adobe Flash. Click the "Open" link under the welcome screen's "Open a Recent Item" left pane. Browse to the Flash document with the objects to rotate and double-click its file name.

    • 2

Scroll the timeline to the first instance of text, an image or button to rotate. Click the keyframe.

    • 3

Click the white arrow icon at the top of the "Tools" column. Click the item to rotate.

    • 4

Click the "Modify" menu at the top of the screen. Click "Transform," "Rotate and Skew."

    • 5

Hover the cursor over a corner of the item to rotate; notice the cursor becomes the rotation symbol. Twirl the cursor on an angle to rotate the item.

Tips & Warnings

  • If multiple items to rotate are on the same keyframe, click directly on the next item to rotate and repeat the process. The "Rotate and Skew" cursor head remains in place until you click on the timeline or stage.
