How to Build Your Own Lizard Trap
Lizards can be trapped for observations or to remove them from your land. Lizards will migrate toward a sufficient food source. If you have lizards on your property, you also have plenty of vegetation, bugs and a nearby water source. To trap and remove larger lizards such as iguanas, consider hiring a professional animal removal service. For smaller lizards, you can create a simple trap to catch and observe, or release them. Locate the area that is often frequented by lizards. Lizards are attracted to water sources and places with lots of vegetation.

Empty a cardboard or shoe box and place it in the area you located to catch the lizards.

Cover the inside and exterior of the box with vegetation to disguise it.

Place live worms, crickets and other bugs inside the box as bait. You can also add a small bowl of water to help the lizard survive if it could be in the trap for a while.

Cover the box with plastic wrap. To get the plastic wrap to adhere to the box and not give to the weight of the lizard, glue with edges of the plastic wrap to the box with clear glue. Wipe any excess glue off to ensure the lizard doesn't accidentally ingest the glue; this could poison the lizard.

Cut a 6-inch-long and 1/2-inch-wide slit in the middle of it. Check it daily to see if any lizards have been trapped.

cool. I hope this works. ive seen two of these now and I think I understand how to carch a lizard but I plan to catch bluetail/5 lined skinks and keep them as pets. would a cardboard or shoebox be a good substitute for an aquarium or tank to keep them in if I don't have one? because I don't have one =(. I know I would have to keep the wrap on top of it so they couldn't get out but maybe put a few more slits in it for air. and some potting soil and plants and a water bowl.
