The iconic toga, perfect for your school's toga party.

Whether for Halloween or just a costume party, togas are lots of fun. The best thing about a toga costume is that nearly everyone has access to one whether they know it or not. There is no need to go out and buy a toga costume; simply use your bed sheet. Togas are comfortable, soft, flowing, easy to put on and are a really easy costume to create if you're running a little late.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 clean white twin bed sheet
  • 4 safety pins

Instructions

    • 1

Wrap the bed sheet around your waist. Depending on the length of the bed sheet and your waist size, once or possibly twice may be required.

    • 2

Pin the sheet at your waist where the sheet overlaps.

    • 3

Wrap the remaining end of the sheet around a shoulder, back around and down to where the first safety pin was attached, and pin again with a second safety pin.

    • 4

Attach the two extra pins under the toga in case one of the first two break.

Tips & Warnings

  • Wearing something under the toga could prove to be a good idea if your toga party turns into a toga-tugging party.

  • Leather sandals and a crown made of leafy twigs or small branches can really complete the look.
