Instructions

    • 1

Bend a steel bar into a 45-degree angle using a ram bender. A ram bender uses two handles to apply leverage around a central arch. Open the rotary bender by pulling apart the handles. Insert the steel according to the manufacturer's instructions. Generally, you want the steel to press against the central arch, which bends it.

    • 2

Drill pilot holes at the top and bottom of either end of the steel. Fit a steel rod between the two pilot holes, driving the steel rod into place using a blunt object, if necessary.

    • 3

Pass two skateboard truck bolts onto the end of the rod. Weld into place.

    • 4

Fit two small skateboard wheels into the ends of the truck bolts. Tighten the ball bearings, which are located on the outside of the skateboard wheels, using a pair of pliers. Slide a second pair of truck bolts onto the skateboard wheels. Align the bolts, twist and tighten to secure the wheelie bar in place at either side.
