How to Create Image Spacing in InDesign
To clean up your InDesign document you need to learn how to create image spacing. InDesign has many options to align and distribute images on the page in the Align panel. Adobe InDesign is a software application that is used for graphic art with works such as posters, fliers, brochures, magazines and books.

"Ctrl-Click" (Windows) or "Command-Click" (Mac OSX) the images you want to space.

Select "Window", "Object and Layout",and "Align" to open the Align panel. In the Align panel, you specify how you want to align or distribute your images based on selection, margins, page or spread. Click on the alignment you want.

Select "Use Spacing" under "Distribute Objects" in the Align panel. You will see a value box. In the box, type the amount of space you want to apply between the images. Select the button for distributing the images along a horizontal or vertical axis and click "OK."

Tips & Warnings
InDesign CS4 and later releases include a tool named "Smart Spacing." When you click on an image with the tool, you can automatically snap it to the vertical and horizontal grid lines.
