1
Look for pictures of rabbits and baby rabbits in children's books, comic books, magazines and online. Print them out or copy them to keep as a handy reference as you draw.
-
2
Take two or three reference images and study the rabbits. Note that they can be broken down into a series of shapes. Take a black marker and trace the shape of the rabbits ears as ovals. Trace the shape of the head. Trace the shape of the body. This is the largest shape you trace. Trance the haunches and the feet. Finish by tracing the eyes and nose, then use a line to trace the mouth. Use a picture of a baby rabbit for at least one of your shape tracings.

3
Check your reference pictures to see what pose to draw your bunny in. Choose one to use as a model for your drawing. Take a pencil and drawing paper. Draw a big oval as the shape of the body, a bit larger on the end where the feet go.
-
4
Draw the haunches as circles or ovals on the wide side of the body. Draw long rectangles for the feet. Connect the back end of the feet to the haunches. Draw the paw end as ovals that are a little wider than the shaft of the foot. Draw the front legs and paws a bit smaller than the back paws. Connect them to the middle of the body.
-
5
Draw the head as an oval that almost comes to a point at the nose. Draw the ears as long ovals that are wider at the end away from the head.
-
6
Add big circles for eyes. Draw slightly smaller circles inside the eyes and color them in dark. Erase a tiny circle out of one side of the dark circle on each eye. Erase the same spot on each eye.
-
7
Draw a rounded triangle for the nose and use lines to draw the mouth. Check reference images for how to draw the mouth or draw the expression you like such as a smile.
-
8
Trace over the major pencil lines with a black marker or micron drawing pen. Do not trace the shapes where they fall inside the body, only trace the lines important to the finished art.
-
9
Color in the cute cartoon bunny with crayons or watercolor paints. Check reference photos for ideas, but use your imagination if you like. For example, try copying a black and white fur or brown and white fur pattern for a reference image, but use a different color with white like purple or blue.

Tips & Warnings
For action poses, draw the bunny body as a kidney bean shape, a bit larger on the end where the legs go. Connect your other shapes to the body as before, but extend the front legs in front of the body and the back legs behind the body to make a running bunny.
