How to Remove the Sliding Drink Holder in a Tundra

by Mark Slingo

Customization is done by many car owners to add special features to their vehicles. This can require adaptation of the car. The Toyota Tundra has sliding cup holders located underneath the factory issue radio. If you wish to add double-DIN size stereos or satellite navigation devices, you will need to remove the drink holders for installation. You can remove the cup holder from the car fairly quickly using basic tools and creating the space to install the new stereo.

Step 1

Disconnect the negative terminal from the car battery terminal with an adjustable wrench.

Step 2

Remove the two plastic Phillips screws on the panel on either side of the sliding cup holder. Unclip and remove the trim panel.

Step 3

Pull out the sliding cup holder from the center dash panel. Depress the two clips on each side of the cup holder and pull it out of the cup holder panel.

Step 4

Remove the four Phillips screws in the cup holder panel. Pull the entire cup holder panel out from the dashboard.
