How to Sterilize in the Industrial Kitchen
An industrial kitchen can be categorized in a few different ways, but basically, it refers to a kitchen that is used for commercial purposes, such as found in a restaurant or factory where large amounts of food are produced. When working in an industrial kitchen, you need to understand the sterilization process. While there are a vast number of ways that kitchen equipment can be sterilized, it is not always necessary to use pre-made chemical cleaners. Instead, you can make your own disinfectant solution. Wipe down the industrial kitchen equipment first with a terry cloth and plain water to remove any built-up residue. Much of the equipment found in industrial kitchens is made with stainless steel. When cleaning stainless steel, don't use abrasive products and be careful to wipe with the grain of the surface, not against.

Get rid of grease stains using a solution of dishwashing detergent and warm water. Wipe the stains with the terry cloth and rinse with plain water.

Dry all equipment completely before sterilizing it.

Mix together one ounce of bleach and one ounce of 5 percent distilled vinegar in a bucket with one gallon of water. This is your disinfectant solution that will be used to sterilize the industrial kitchen once all residue and grease has been cleaned.

Put on rubber gloves and wipe down all surfaces of the industrial kitchen using the bleach and vinegar solution and a new terry cloth.

Allow the mixture to sit on all surfaces of the industrial kitchen that you're sterilizing for twenty minutes. This is the amount of time it takes to kill germs and sterilize the area.

Wet a new cloth with plain water and wipe off the surfaces to remove bleach residue.
