How to Give an Anniversary Speech
An anniversary is a celebration of the time a couple has spent together, and your speech should celebrate that if you are organizing an anniversary party or you have been asked to speak at one. While an anniversary speech does not need to be long, it should be from the heart, so think about your relationship with the couple and what they have done with their time together.

1
Open the speech with a memory, whether it is about the couple when they first got together or one member of the couple when they were single. Keep the memory clean and comfortable enough for the most conservative member of the party.
-
2
Relate how far the couple has come since being together, mentioning some of the highlights of their life together. Things to include might be job changes, moves or the milestones of their children.
-
-
3
Speculate what their future might be like and what part they will play in their own lives and those at the party.
-
4
Wish them well in their future endeavors and if appropriate, propose a toast.

Tips & Warnings
Insert humor where appropriate, but remember not to embarrass anyone. An anniversary is a joyous occasion, and humor helps keep the mood light and upbeat.
Keep the speech to around the 1 to 2 minute mark. A short speech is more memorable and not hard for your audience to sit through.
Memorize your speech. A memorized speech is more smoothly delivered, and it allows you to make eye contact with your audience.
