How to Make Your Own Touch & Feel Book
A homemade touch-and-feel book is a personalized gift that can be shared with any toddler or as a baby-shower gift. Anyone can make a touch-and-feel book after choosing a theme and the type of pictures to be used. Around the house you can find a variety of textured items (such as plastic, fabric or ribbon) to use for different animals or items in your book.
Things You'll Need
- Thick tag board or cardboard
- Computer with printer
- Textured, flat items
- Tacky glue
Instructions

1
Draw or print the images on thick cardboard or tag board. Cut a second piece of your desired background that is the same size as the printed page.
-
2
Cut a hole in the middle of the picture or a selected area (such as the chest of a duckling or the roof of a car).
-
-
3
Place the textured item behind the hole. For example, place scaly-feeling material behind the hole cut in a fish. Glue in place with tacky glue. Wait one day for the glue to dry.
-
4
Glue the two pieces of cardboard together. Use a thick hole punch or scissors to cut a hole along the margin. Use string to tie the pages together.
