How Do I Look Up What I Owe for Tickets in Massachusetts?

Use the Registry of Motor Vehicles website to check on Massachusetts traffic tickets.

Massachusetts, like all other states, allows individuals who are cited for speeding or parking violations to check and pay their tickets online. This is convenient, as some printed citations do not state the full amount owed and, if past due, the amount may change. Any individual with access to the Internet has the ability to check the amount owed on a traffic ticket from Massachusetts in under five minutes.

Instructions

1. Log on to the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles Express Lane website. This website allows you to pay any citations obtained within the state of Massachusetts.

2. Click the "Continue" arrow directly below the Pay Tickets sections. This will load a section explaining what information is needed in order to pay or check on the ticket. Click the "Continue" button at the bottom of the page

3. Read over the terms and conditions for paying a citation online. Check the box next to the accept form that indicates you have read and agree to the terms and conditions. Click the "Accept" arrow located at the bottom right side of the page.

4. Type in your citation number and the date on which the citation was issued in the specified boxes. Type your email address in the two spaces provided. Type the word verification into the specified box and click the "Continue" button.

5. Look over the details page. Once you click "Continue" on the previous page in step four, your citation is drawn from the system and displayed on your screen. The total amount you owe for the ticket will show on the screen along with the date the amount is due. You can choose to pay the citation immediately or check back in the future.
