How to Attach a Single Song to Email

Sharing songs with friends has changed with the times, from recording a mixtape to burning a playlist onto a CD. You also can share music by simply emailing a song to someone. To do this, the song must be in the form of a single file, much like a document. Typically, song files are MP3s, which can be downloaded from digital music providers such as Amazon and iTunes. You also can create song files by ripping them from CDs.

Instructions

    • 1

Save the song file to your desktop; that is the most convenient place to retrieve files.

    • 2

Launch your email client or log in to your webmail account.

    • 3

Compose your email. Click the paperclip icon or the attachment link. Browse for the song file that you saved to your desktop. Click the attach or open button. Click the "Send" button on the email.

Tips & Warnings

  • When you are sending a song through email, make sure you are observing any copyright restrictions on the content.

  • Some email service providers do not allow certain file types to be sent through email because of their size.
