How to Clean a VaporGenie

The VaporGenie is a tobacco pipe that uses vapor instead of heat to allow the properties of tobacco, including any flavors infused, such as mint, to be inhaled with less of its harmful properties, such as tar. After several uses, a small amount of tar does build up on the VaporGenie's screen and must be removed to ensure that the pipe works properly. Cleaning the VaporGenie involves removing this tar and gently cleaning out the pipe's screen, mouthpiece and metal bowl.

Things You'll Need

• Tweezers
• Alcohol wipes or cotton balls and rubbing alcohol
• Paper towel
• Pipe cleaner

Instructions

1. Remove the VaporGenie's screen by gently grasping it with a pair of tweezers and pulling it upward. You may need to twist the screen slightly to remove it completely.

2. Set the screen aside and pull out the wire coil, which holds up the screen, with the tweezers.

3. Clean the wire screen and coil by rubbing them with an alcohol wipe or cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol.

4. Clean the inside of the VaporGenie's steel bowl with an alcohol wipe or cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol.

5. Unscrew the pipe's plastic mouthpiece and rinse it under warm water. Dry the mouthpiece with paper towel and place it back onto the VaporGenie.

6. Insert a pipe cleaner through the mouthpiece and into the VaporGenie. Turn the pipe cleaner inside the pipe to remove any tar or other buildup.

7. Reassemble the VaporGenie and use as desired.
