How to Repair a Water Damaged MacBook Pro
Your expensive laptop is placed near a beverage or gets caught in a sudden rain storm -- and before you know it -- you have a badly water-damaged device. If the water is allowed time to seep into the electronics and wreak havoc, then there is nothing you will be able to do - short of taking it to a true expert and paying an expensive repair fee. However, if you act quickly enough, you may be able top remove the water before any serious damage is done to your MacBook Pro.

1
Turn off the MacBook Pro immediately, and do not switch it back on until you are confident you have got rid of the water (through the methods to follow.) Turning the machine back on while there is moisture in the electronics could cause components to short out and cause irreparable damage.
-
2
Remove the battery from your MacBook Pro as quickly as possible once the water spillage has occurred. Once you have done this, dry the battery using a dry cloth to remove any water build up. Also, dry off the battery port and any other surfaces of the machine which looked to have sustained damage.

3
Fill an airtight container with dry, uncooked rice and place your MacBook Pro and battery in the container. Leave it overnight and allow the absorbing characteristics of the rice to remove the moisture from the MacBook Pro.
-
4
Reassemble and switch on your MacBook Pro. Hopefully, you have caught the spillage quickly enough and this has avoided any serious water damage. If not, then you will face taking it for a professional repair.
