How to Deposit Money Into Green Dot
The Green Dot reloadable credit card allows you to have a Visa or MasterCard even with bad credit or no bank account. The card is easy to get at a variety of locations or by ordering online. The card comes printed with your name and your choice of a Visa or MasterCard logo. It is used at any retailer or online store that accepts credit cards, with the option to withdraw money at an ATM. There are a variety of choices for putting money on the card.

Sign up for direct deposit to have money deposited directly onto your Green Dot card. Go to the Green Dot website and click on "Add Funds" and "Direct Deposit." Click "Get Started" and log in to your account or sign up if you haven't already done so. From here you will be instructed to fill out a form with your card number, name and address. Once the form has been created, print it out and give it to your employer. They will use this form to deposit your paycheck onto the card directly.

Add funds to your card by doing a bank account transfer. This option is available if your banking institution offers electronic transfers known as ACH transfers. Go to the Green Dot website, log in and write down your account number located in your account information. Go to your bank's website and sign up for the ACH transfer using this account number and your card number. You will then be provided with instructions on how to transfer funds from your bank to your Green Dot card.

Load money onto your Green Dot card by purchasing a Moneypak card at one of their retail locations. Go to the Moneypak website and use the "Store Locator" located at the top-right of the screen. Enter your zip code and find the nearest location. At that location, you will pick up a Moneypak card and put your choice of money on it using cash. Then log into your account on the Green Dot website and go to "Add Funds" and "Reload with Moneypak." Enter your card number, the Moneypak number and your zip code.
