How to Move Evernote Files to Google Docs

Evernote and Google Docs offer free versions of file storing and backup software. Evernote, a free software download available for computers, cellphones and tablets, stores files and syncs them between different devices. You can pay a monthly fee for added storage space and additional files types that are not supported in the free version. Google Docs is accessible through your Google username and password, and stores files online via a website address. Users upload files much as they would an email attachment and can view these documents by accessing the website from any device that supports viewing attachments.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Evernote and sign in. Click on the "Sync" tab on the upper left. Allow the software to perform a complete synchronization. Sync is complete when the button stops rotating.

    • 2

Select the folder or file from "Notebooks" that you want to transfer from Evernote. Select "All Notebooks" to transfer your complete Evernote library to Google. Right-click and select "Export Notes." In the dialog box, select your desktop as the file location. Click "Save." Leave the file format as the pre-selected ".xml."

Go to Google. Click "More" on the top menu bar. Select "Documents." Login when prompted. Select "Upload" under the heading "Google Docs." Select "Files" from the drop-down menu. In the dialog box, select the xml export file from Evernote that you saved on your desktop. Click "Start Upload."
