How to Remove Attachments in a Thunderbird Reply

Unlike many web-based email providers, Mozilla's client-based Thunderbird application allows you to manage any attachments in your sent, received or archived email folders from an option in the program's toolbar. You can remove attachments from emails to save space in the program and move them to other folders on your computer to view later. You also can delete attachments from your machine entirely.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch Thunderbird and open the email containing the attachments you want to remove.

    • 2

Click on "Attachments" in the toolbar.

    • 3

Click on "Detach all..." to remove all files attached to your message and save them in a folder on your hard disk. If you want to delete the attachments, select "Delete all..."
