How to Get Someone to Propose in "The Sims 3"

"The Sims 3" allows you to create your own characters and interact with others in virtual daily situations. One of the goals of some Sims players is to get married and raise a family in the game. To do this, you must find someone for your Sim character to marry. Once you have found someone you would like to marry, you must interact with that person to build a friendship until you can get married.

Introduce your Sim to the person you would like to marry. Your initial interaction gives you an idea of whether you are compatible. If the person has a negative reaction immediately, choose someone else.

Click on the other Sim and choose friendly interactions one at a time. Use different interactions to keep the other Sim from getting bored. You can repeat interactions, but do not use the same one twice in a row. Avoid using negative interactions, such as tease and fight.

Monitor the level of friendship between the two Sims. As the friendship level increases, you will find more interaction possibilities.

Use the romantic interactions once the Sims have reached the level of good friends or best friends. Before this point, the other Sim is likely to have a negative reaction to the interaction, which will set you back in your journey toward proposal.

Ask the other Sim how they are feeling occasionally to make sure that all of their needs are met. If they are unhappy about something or have unfulfilled needs, they will tell you when you ask and you can help them meet those needs. Proposing when the other Sim is unhappy results in rejection.

Use the option to propose going steady when it appears. As long as the other Sim is happy, they will accept your proposal.

Build up the romantic interest further using a combination of romantic options, such as kissing, hugging and holding hands, and friendly options, such as talking and enthusing.

Choose the propose marriage option when it appears and both of you are happy and have your needs fulfilled.
