How to Change Your Icon When Typing on Skype
When you are chatting via text with other Skype users, they can see your Skype icon. Depending on your previous choices, this icon may be a small picture of you, one of Skype's default icons or something else entirely. If your current Skype icon no longer suits you, you can change it with just a few clicks. You don't even need to interrupt your chat session to do this.

Tips & Warnings
If you want to change your Skype icon to a current picture of yourself, click "Take a snapshot" instead of "Choose picture from file." This allows you to take a snapshot of yourself using your webcam, if your system is equipped with one.
