How to Stop Drooling
Drooling during the night will wet your pillow and bed sheets. If the linen is not washed frequently, the dried drool will create a fool odor. It is also embarrassing to drool if you are sleeping next to someone. Sleeping is not the only time drool can escape; some people drool while awake. Drooling at night is normal, but can be symptomatic of a health issue. Drooling while awake is often a result of a health condition.

1
Sleep on your back instead of your stomach or side to prevent drooling during sleep. It is more difficult for your mouth to fall open when you're sleeping on your back.
-
2
Go to an ear, nose and throat specialist to determine the cause of the drooling. The drooling may be the result of clogged sinuses, sleep apnea or another respiratory problem. The physician will be able to prescribe medication for sinuses or other issues, such as a breathing machine to curb sleep apnea.

Apply a tooth and gum pain relief gel to teeth and areas of the mouth that are painful. To stop drooling in a teething baby, allow her to bite on a teething ring or apply a baby tooth and gum relief gel to problem areas.

4
Apply ice to the jaw and mouth area, if an injury has occurred. The ice will reduce the swelling, which will help to reduce drooling.
