How to Look Up Bible Verses by Topic
While one of the best ways to study your Bible is by reading it from Genesis to Revelation, another effective way to study your Bible is to look up particular verses that pertain to certain topics. When you study the Bible this way, you get a better understanding of how you can apply what you learned to your daily experiences. Some other good resources to use for performing a topical Bible study include a Bible dictionary and some commentaries on certain books of the Bible.

1
Look for topical keywords that you can find in the Bible. For example, if you're looking for verses on the ministry of the Holy Spirit in Christians' lives, go to the back of your Bible or Bible dictionary and look under "Holy Spirit." Then write down and read each verse that pertains to this subject.

Purchase a devotional book that gives Bible verses based on different topics. When looking for devotional books, seek out a book that not only has the topics and verses that relate to them, but also that includes brief commentaries on the verses in the book.
