How to Permit Google Chrome in My Firewall

Google Chrome is a Web browser that requires permissions in the Windows Firewall to work properly. Permissions are a safety measure to prevent malicious programs from using inbound and outbound connections to transmit data. Adding Google Chrome to the Windows Firewall automatically gives the program all the permissions required to successfully interact with the Internet.

Instructions

1. Click "Start," type "Allow a Program through Windows Firewall" (without quotes) and press "Enter."

2. Click the button labeled "Change Settings." Next, click the button labeled "Allow another Program."

3. Click the program labeled "Google Chrome" and click "Add."

4. Click "OK" to finish adding Google Chrome to the Windows Firewall.
