How to Install the Emoticon Toolbar in Gmail

An emoticon is a textual representation of a facial expression. For example, you can type ":-)" for a smiling face or ":-(" for a frowning face. Emoticons are widely used in text messaging, email and instant messengers. Gmail, Google's free Web-based email service, allows you to insert emoticon icons into an email. Emoticon icons are small graphical emoticons. Although Gmail offers several emoticons by default, you can install the Extra Emoji toolbar from Google Labs, which offers many more emoticons. The Extra Emoji emoticon toolbar is free and easy to install.
