You'll likely happen upon an airport as you’re hijacking cars, holding up restaurants and committing other crimes in “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.” You can choose to hijack planes by entering the airport and taking one for a joy ride. Of course, you’ll need to land the plane to arrive safely back on land. You must choose an appropriate landing spot and direct the plane toward the ground in order to land a plane.

Click the right analog stick to deploy the landing gear. Press "2" if you’re playing the PC version of the game.

Fly above flat land. Landing a plane on anything except a flat stretch of land, such as a road or open field, will likely result in the plane tipping over. Press "up" on the right analog stick to lower the plane toward the ground once you find flat land. Press the up arrow if you're playing the PC version of the game. Do not aim the nose of the plain directly down; keep it at about a 45 degree angle.

Press the “Square” button to decrease the plane’s acceleration if you’re playing the PlayStation version. Press the “X” button for the Xbox 360 or “S” for the PC. Do not make the plane come to a complete stop in the air; you must slow it down enough that it essentially glides slowly through the air. Keep the nose of the plan toward the ground at the same time. Pull back on the right analog stick just enough to lift the plane so that it’s even with the ground once you're about to land.

Press and hold down the decelerate button as you’re landing. The plan will come to a complete stop.
