How to Remove Jell-O Shapes From Molds
Properly removing Jell-O from a mold can mean the difference between an impressive, edible creation and a mushy, watery gelatin that won't hold its shape or breaks off and leaves half of itself stuck in the mold. A few simple tips can help you avoid future Jell-O disasters. Does this Spark an idea?

Check the Jell-O for firmness. Touch the top to make sure it isn't sticky and tilt it sideways to see that it doesn't move around in the mold.

Dip a table knife in warm water and run it along the edges of the the Jell-O to loosen from the mold.

Set the mold in a bowl of warm water for about 10 seconds. Do not use hot water, which may cause the Jell-O to melt.

Invert a moist chilled plate over the top of the mold.

Carefully flip the plate and mold together and slowly lift off the mold.

Tips & Warnings
To ensure that the Jell-O is firm, let it chill an hour longer than a recipe suggests.
If the Jell-O does not easily slide out of the mold after dipping in warm water, repeat the process.
