How to Send Tweets to LinkedIn
Creating a channel of communication between Twitter and LinkedIn allows you to expand your online professional community. Twitter and LinkedIn sync efficiently and the Tweets application, designed to work within the LinkedIn interface, allows you to control the preferences for importing your Twitter feed. By using certain labeling techniques in Twitter, you can send targeted tweets directly to your LinkedIn community.

Log in to your LinkedIn account with your email and password and access your homepage. This page will appear automatically or you can choose the "Home" link at the left-hand side of the navigation bar.

Select the "More" link on the right-hand side of the main navigation to activate the drop-down menu.

Click the link at the bottom of this menu labeled "Get More Applications" and scroll down the Applications page when it appears.

Locate the "Tweets" application, identified by the Twitter bird icon, and click the link.

Set the preferences for display options when the application page for Tweets appears and select the blue button at the bottom of the "Application Info" box to install this application.

Authorize LinkedIn to access your Twitter account by selecting the authorization button when the dialogue box appears and entering your username and password. If you are already logged into your Twitter account, you do not need to re-enter your Twitter username and password. Once activated, you will automatically be redirected to the Tweets application in your LinkedIn account.

Select the "Settings" tab for the Tweets application on your profile page in LinkedIn. Select the option labeled "Display only tweets that include #in" under the display preference settings. The "#in" or "#li" hashtags will tell LinkedIn that only tweets with this #hashtag are to be imported. A #hashtag is a means of categorizing and organizing tweets within Twitter.

Access your homepage on Twitter and begin a new tweet in the message box.

Include the "#in" or "#li" hashtags at any point within your tweet and click the "Send" button.

Tips & Warnings
You can also set your LinkedIn profile to import all tweets, but keep in mind that your professional network will be engaging with your interactions on LinkedIn and personal tweets may not be appropriate.
