How to Install the Custom Firmware M33

M33 custom firmware is a type of Sony PSP firmware. The firmware offers a few differences than Sony firmware, but for the most part, the two are equally effective at playing PSP games. M33 was developed by a PSP developer that goes by the name of Dark Alex. PSP custom firmware 5.00 M33 was the last custom firmware released by Dark Alex and it is still used as of this publication date.

      Download the 5.00 M33 installation files which includes the 5.00 M33 folder and the 500.pbp file.

      Connect the PSP to the computer and copy the M33 folder to the GAME folder which is found inside of the PSP folder.

      Rename the 500.pbp file to "EBOOT.PBP" and copy that into the M33 folder which is now inside the "GAME" folder on the PSP.

      Disconnect the PSP from the computer and select the "5.00 M33" installer from the PSP's main menu. Press "X" to install M33 custom firmware on the Sony PSP.

      Press the "X" button on the PSP to reboot the PSP. M33 custom firmware is now installed on the PSP.
