Game Boy Advance (GBA) ROMs, read-only memory files that are an exact copy of a game, can be played on GBA emulators. You can apply UPS patches to GBA ROMs to translate the ROM’s language or to change the color scheme from monochrome to full color. A special patching tool is used to patch GBA ROMs with UPS patches. You need a clean ROM to apply the patch, meaning a ROM with not other altercations made to it. Also, you can only use a GBA ROM if you own an actual hard copy of the GBA game to whose ROM you want to apply the patch.
Download the “UPS Patcher” and open the “UPS Patcher.rar” file that mounts on your desktop. Open the file that corresponds to your operating system. For example, if you're using Windows open the "Windows" file.
Double-click on the icon inside the folder. Click “Apply Patch to Existing File.”
Click the top most “Browse” and choose the patch you want to use. Click the bottom most “Browse” button and select the clean GBA ROM you want to patch.
Click “Apply Patch.” When the UPS patcher is finished click “OK.”
