Fireworks CS4 is a hybrid graphics program that can work on both vector and bitmap images. This capability makes it somewhat similar to a desktop publishing application like QuarkXpress. When you place a bitmap grpagis like a photo or clip art into a Fireworks CS4 document, you can edit it in many ways. One thing you might want to do with it is to cutout a portion.

Instructions

      Start Fireworks CS4. Select "File" from the menu and choose "Open." In the dialog, browse to and open a Fireworks document containing an image you want cut up.

      Go to the toolbar on the left and choose the "Lasso" tool. Use it to draw a selection of the part you want to cut out and keep.

      Select "Select" from the menu at the top and choose "Select Inverse." Click "Delete" on your keyboard to remove the unwanted part. Save your work.
