How to Open a Futon Couch
A futon couch is an inexpensive piece of furniture that converts to a bed. Futon couches expand into full and queen size beds, and the couch cushion doubles as the mattress. Futon couches easily open and lay flat. Add fitted sheet and blanket for overnight guests. When you want to close the futon to make it a couch again, just reverse the process. Pull the futon away from the wall. Remove any extra cushions.

Hold the bottom of the couch frame with both hands and lift until the seat is vertical, making the back of the futon parallel to the floor.

Lift the seat frame straight up to unlock the frame. Pull the seat down toward the floor until it is flat, just like the back of the futon.

Adjust the mattress so it covers the frame. Add sheets and pillows to make the bed.
