How to Frost Dog Cookies
Every good dog deserves a special treat from its owner. Homemade dog cookies are an especially tasty and personal treat for the family pet. They are ideal for special occasions such as holidays, birthdays or when you want to include your dog in the gift-giving experience. Make or buy cookies in dog or bone shapes and frost them for an added touch of creativity and flavor.
Things You'll Need
- 12 oz. nonfat cream cheese
- 2 tsp. honey
- Bowl
- Hand mixer
- Spoon
- Pastry bag
- Fine frosting tip
- Twist tie

Combine 12 oz. cream cheese and 2 tsp. honey in a bowl and beat with a hand mixer until the mixture has a smooth, fluffy consistency.

Spoon all of the frosting into a pastry bag with a fine frosting tip. Twist the top of the bag and secure with a twist tie to prevent frosting from spilling.

Squeeze the pastry bag and create a thin frosting outline on the edge of the dog-shaped cookie. Draw two eyes, a mouth and collar around its neck with the frosting.

Create three small circles along the top of a round-shaped cookie. Draw a large circle underneath the small circles to create a paw print design.

Write your dog's name in cursive with the frosting on a bone-shaped cookie.

Tips & Warnings
Add small amounts of food coloring to the frosting for added color.
Set the cream cheese out and allow it to reach room temperature before using.
Squeeze the pastry bag from the back to evenly frost the cookies.
Use small amounts of frosting so your dog doesn't get sick.
Use ingredients that are safe for dog consumption.
