How to Make an ID Card for a Bead Necklace
If you work at a summer camp or at a church, then you may want to make ID cards to fit beaded necklaces and lanyards for your campers or students attending your programs. This is an easy project that you can turn into a scheduled activity with the students. Allow your students to express their creativity by making their individual ID cards that they can attach to plastic beaded necklaces, such as Mardi Gras beads.

1
Lay a blank index card on your work space. Make sure it is oriented horizontally. Fold it in half, and cut it along the crease. Use one of the halves for one photo ID card.
-
2
Turn the index card half vertically. Swipe the surface with a glue stick. Place a piece of scrapbook paper in a design of your choice on top of it. Smooth the papers with your hand. Trim the excess scrapbook paper away from the index card. This is your ID card base.

3
Cut out a photo of your face in a square shape. You will want to ask your students to bring a thumb-size photo of themselves to camp or class on the day that you do this activity.
-
4
Glue the photo in the top left corner of your index card.
-
5
Write your name to the right of the photo in large block letters.
-
6
Decorate the remaining space with stickers, glitter glue pens, and markers.
-
7
Allow your ID card to dry. Slip it in a luggage tag. Snap the luggage tag onto a beaded necklace.
