How to Make Your Blogger Site Unavailable for the Moment

Anyone can publish a blog with Blogger, the free Google Web design and hosting platform. While some bloggers like to get as wide an audience as possible, others restrict their posts to invited readers only. You may wish to go further and disable the blog temporarily, taking it offline so that only you can see it. Accomplishing this from your Dashboard is a simple process.

Instructions

1. Log into blogger.com.

2. Click "Settings" under the blog you want to make unavailable.

3. Click the "Permissions" tab.

4. Select "Blog Authors Only" under "Blog Readers."

5. Click "Allow Authors Only" in the pop-up window to confirm. Your blog is no longer publicly viewable.

Tips & Warnings

• Return to "Permissions" and select "Anybody" or "Only People I Choose" to make your blog available again.
