How to Use Facebook for Blog Commenting

As social media website Facebook has become more essential to interacting online, owners of websites have begun offering visitors the opportunity to "Connect" with Facebook. Doing so allows a visitor to use the site like a registered member using his Facebook account. Connect Facebook with a blog you read frequently to comment on posts using your Facebook account, interactions which display on your Facebook profile for your friends to see.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your Facebook account if you're not already signed in. You must be signed in to the site to "Connect" with an external website or blog.

    • 2

Visit the blog in question and open the post to which you wish to add a comment. Scroll down to the bottom of the post where the option to comment displays.

    • 3

Click the "Connect With Facebook" button if one appears under the main comment window. If it doesn't, click the "Register" button and click the "Connect With Facebook" button there. Click "Allow" to authorize the site to log you in using your Facebook account credentials.

    • 4

Write your comment, and click "Post." Confirm or deny whether you want your activity posted to your profile if the site doesn't post it automatically.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you can't find a button that indicates you can connect with Facebook, you can't use Facebook in conjunction with the blog in question.

  • Don't provide your actual Facebook credentials to any external websites. Legitimate blogs which allow Facebook Connecting require only that you authorize access to your Facebook account, not provide an actual email address or password.
