How to Use Gmail to Read Yahoo! Mail

Consolidate Gmail and Yahoo! Mail messages into a single inbox.

Gmail and Yahoo! Mail are both free, Web-based email services. Uses can access their Gmail and Yahoo! Mail accounts from any device with Internet access. Clients can also customize their email services with a wide variety of features such as automatic signatures and vacation responses. The user can also automatically forward Yahoo! Mail messages to Gmail, causing all emails to show up in the Gmail account's inbox.

Instructions

1. Log in to your Yahoo! Mail account and click the "Options" link, then "Mail Options."

2. Click "POP and Forwarding" to open a list of options for forwarding your Yahoo! Mail.

3. Check the box to "Forward your Yahoo! Mail."

4. Enter your Gmail address into the text box labeled "Forward mail to the following address."

5. Click "Save Changes" to enable forwarding. Your Yahoo! Mail messages now appear in your Gmail inbox.

Tips & Warnings

• Yahoo! Mail forwarding does not save messages in your Yahoo Mail! inbox: forwarded messages are visible only in your Gmail inbox.
