How to Build a List on Facebook

How to Build a List on Facebook thumbnail
Facebook lists can be kept private from your friends.

When your Facebook list becomes quite large, managing your friends might become difficult. Use the social networking site's list feature to create sub-lists from your main friend list. Lists allow you to view the status updates of only certain people in your news feed, limit who sees you online in chat and create more specific privacy settings. For instance, you might keep some of your photos hidden from one of your lists.

Instructions

    • 1

Click on the white "Account" link at the top of any Facebook page and click "Edit Friends" from the menu.

    • 2

Click the gray "Create a List" icon in the top right corner of the screen. A pop-up window appears.

    • 3

Type a name for your list in the "Enter a Name" field at the top of the pop-up window.

    • 4

Click on the name and thumbnail image of a friend to add her to the list; friends are listed alphabetically. If you have a lot of friends, find someone more quickly by typing her name in the "Start Typing a Name" field. Repeat the process for every friend you want to add to the list.
